Overview
The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal society founded by Father Michael J McGivney in 1882 in New Haven, CT.
The Knights of Columbus was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. In addition, social and family fellowship are promoted through educational, social welfare, charitable, religious, war relief, and other public works. The Knights has grown to over 15,900 Councils and 1.9 million members worldwide.
Activities
The Knights of Columbus annually donate more than $185 million to charitable causes and volunteered over 75 million hours of service. Our council is active in these initiatives.
State of Ohio KofC
Ohio has over 370 Councils and 59,000 members. Important programs include: Measure Up, Cash Bonanza Raffle, Tracking Council Service Hours, Matching Funds to Support Catholic Education, Support Our Seminarians, State Awards Oversight, Free-Throw Challenge, Football Frenzy, Knight / Family / Lady / Volunteer / Blue Coat / Chaplain / Religious / Youth of the Year.
